SYNOPSIS

We take you back to the end of the 18th century, a turbulent period in Japanese history when the long reign of the Tokugawa Shogunate is coming to an end.
Amidst economic hardship and political turmoil, Katsu Kaishu, a shogunate royalist and naval officer, secretly gathers a group of peasants to form a private army. They train under Shimada, a former Shinsengumi (special police force of the shogunate) to become the fearsome Ichigeki Army - One Strike Killers – who take down their enemy in a single blow.
Will Ushi, Ichi, and the courageous peasants succeed in their mission?
This is an uplifting one-episode TV drama about long-oppressed peasants daring to risk their lives to stand up against power.
